Developing an integrated microfluidic and miniaturized electrochemical biosensor for point of care determination of glucose in human plasma samples

Shamim Azimi et al.

Summary: A cost-effective, point of care device based on highly oriented CNT arrays was developed for real-time and sensitive detection of glucose in complex samples. Utilizing vertically aligned carbon nanotube sensor arrays, along with a miniature potentiostat and syringe pumps, the device demonstrated high sensitivity and detection limits, and was successfully applied for determination of glucose in human blood plasma samples.

Numerical and experimental analysis of a high-throughput blood plasma separator for point-of-care applications

Shadi Karimi et al.

Summary: This study focuses on optimizing the design of a microfluidic blood plasma separator for portable blood plasma separation with high purity and reasonable yield. The experimental results show that the design can achieve a 19% yield with 77.1% purity, which can be adjusted based on the point-of-care application requirements.
