Fluorescence-Detected Mid-Infrared Photothermal Microscopy

Minghe Li et al.

Summary: This study demonstrates the utility of fluorescence-detected photothermal infrared (F-PTIR) microscopy in characterizing phase-separated domains within model amorphous solid dispersions (ASDs) induced by water sorption. The temperature-dependent changes in fluorescence quantum efficiency sensitively report on localized absorption of mid-infrared radiation. The spatial resolution of infrared spectroscopy in F-PTIR is determined by fluorescence microscopy, enabling high-resolution analysis of chemical composition.

Fluorescence-Detected Mid-Infrared Photothermal Microscopy

Yi Zhang et al.

Summary: Mid-infrared photothermal microscopy is a novel chemical imaging technology that utilizes thermosensitive fluorescent probes to enhance sensitivity and image quality, enabling high-resolution imaging of biological specimens. The technique offers improved spectral fidelity and specificity by targeting specific organelles or biomolecules, and addresses the issue of photobleaching through the development of a wide-field fluorescence-detected mid-infrared photothermal microscope.
