Study on long-term pest control and stability of double-layer pesticide carrier in indoor and outdoor environment

Summary: By chemically crosslinking sulfonic acid groups on sodium lignosulfonate with protonated UIO-66-NH2, a novel double-layer pesticide carrier was successfully constructed to achieve long-term pest control. This controlled-release pesticide overcomes the issues of burst release and slow initial release commonly seen in natural polymer and MOFs-based carriers, respectively. Experimental results demonstrate excellent biosafety and stability of the new pesticide carrier in outdoor environments, resulting in significant pest control efficacy in rice plants.
