Performance evaluation and kinetic modeling of down-flow high-rate anaerobic bioreactors for poultry slaughterhouse wastewater treatment

Mahomet Njoya et al.

Summary: This study evaluated the treatment of poultry slaughterhouse wastewater using two new down-flow high-rate anaerobic bioreactor systems, which demonstrated good performance with removal percentages of BOD5, COD, and FOG exceeding 95%. The study analyzed the kinetic parameters of these two bioreactors using the modified Stover-Kincannon and Grau second-order multi-component substrate models, providing insight for their design and performance prediction.
