Neutrophil specific granule and NETosis defects in gray platelet syndrome

Cathelijn E. M. Aarts et al.

Summary: Patients with Gray platelet syndrome (GPS) exhibit a deficiency of specific granules (SGs) in neutrophils, absence of NETosis in circulating GPS neutrophils, and intact neutrophil functions. The lack of NETosis may be independent of NBEAL2 expression but associated with SG defects, suggesting a potentially important role of NBEAL2 in regulating granule release.
