Doping distribution in Skutterudites with ultra-high filling fractions for achieving ultra-low thermal conductivity

Wei Ren et al.

Summary: The research fabricated Yb-filled CoSb3 skutterudites with an ultra-high Yb filling fraction, achieving an ultra-low lattice thermal conductivity. This was achieved through enhanced rattling effect and additional phonon scattering, breaking the traditional perspective of point defects scattering.

Rational band engineering and structural manipulations inducing high thermoelectric performance in n-type CoSb3 thin films

Zhuang-Hao Zheng et al.

Summary: A record high ZT value of 0.65 at 623K was achieved in n-type Ag/In co-doped CoSb3 thin films, demonstrating high thermoelectric performance. Ag and In fillers prefer to occupy the interstitial sites in the CoSb3 lattice, inducing impurity states in the band structure and tuning the bandgap to enhance electrical conductivity and reduce thermal conductivity.

α-Cu2Se thermoelectric thin films prepared by copper sputtering into selenium precursor layers

Ping Fan et al.

Summary: Nanocrystalline Cu2Se thin films with uniform element distribution were successfully fabricated in this study, and self-assembled growth of films with desired alpha-phase and well crystallinity was achieved through optimization of annealing temperature. The research revealed that growth orientation is significantly affected by annealing temperature, which in turn affects the thermoelectric properties.
