Phytochemical Screening, Phenolic Compounds and Antioxidant Activity of Biomass from Lychnis flos-cuculi L. In Vitro Cultures and Intact Plants

Michal P. Malinski et al.

Summary: In Lychnis flos-cuculi, inflorescence, flowering herbs gathered from natural habitat, and those from experimental plot have the richest content of polyphenols and demonstrate the highest antioxidant activity. In contrast, extracts from callus show the lowest polyphenol content and antioxidant potential. The total phenolics, flavonoids, and phenolic acids content correlate with the antioxidant capacity of L. flos-cuculi extracts.
