Microbiomics, Metabolomics, Predicted Metagenomics, and Hepatic Steatosis in a Population-Based Study of 1,355 Adults

Louise J. M. Alferink et al.

Summary: This study found a decrease in gut microbial diversity in patients with steatosis, and identified associations of Coprococcus and Ruminococcus Gnavus with steatosis. The metabolic profile in patients with steatosis showed opposite correlations with alpha diversity, indicating a complex relationship between gut microbiome, metabolism, and liver health.

In Vitro Modulatory Effect of Stevioside, as a Partial Sugar Replacer in Sweeteners, on Human Child Microbiota

Florentina Gatea et al.

Summary: The long-term consumption of stevioside has implications on children's microbiota pattern, leading to an increase in bacterial strains and adjustments in organic acid synthesis. This influences the synthesis of essential SCFAs and microbial diversity in response to oxidative stress, without a significant increase in antioxidant status.
