Descriptive analysis of prostatitis in the emergency department

Santiago Cantillo Campos et al.

Summary: The study found a low diagnosis rate of prostatitis in the emergency department, with male patients diagnosed with prostatitis usually being younger, less likely to be hospitalized, and experiencing milder symptoms. Urinalysis showed that male patients with prostatitis typically had lower levels of bacteria, white blood cells, and other indicators.

Epidemiology of Invasive Escherichia coli Infection and Antibiotic Resistance Status Among Patients Treated in US Hospitals: 2009-2016

Summary: This study reveals a significant burden of IEIs and recurrent IEIs in the United States, as well as a growing resistance to extended-spectrum cephalosporins over time. Future research should focus on exploring risk factors for recurrent IEIs to effectively prevent such infections.
