Study Progress of Apomixis in Flax (Linum Usitatissimum L.)

Qing-Hua Kang et al.

Summary: This paper reviews the history, types, research methods, occurrence, and genetic mechanisms of flax breeding, with a focus on apomixis. It discusses the development and genetic mechanisms of apomixis in polyembryonic flax, as well as progress in inducing methods using cytology, embryology, genetics, and molecular biology. The study aims to uncover the rules of apomixis and enhance its utilization efficiency in breeding, while also proposing solutions to existing problems in apomixis breeding of polyembryonic flax and outlining future research directions in flax apomixis.
