Skin Multi-Omics-Based Interactome Analysis: Integrating the Tissue and Mucus Exuded Layer for a Comprehensive Understanding of the Teleost Mucosa Functionality as Model of Study

Felipe E. Reyes-Lopez et al.

Summary: This study analyzed the response of gilthead sea bream skin mucosa to dietary inclusion of spray-dried porcine plasma using a holistic multi-omics approach. The interaction between skin tissue and exuded mucus was found to improve tissue development, innate defenses, and environment recognition. The results emphasize the importance of crosstalk between skin tissue and mucus in mucosal functionality.
