The impact of mitochondria-related POLG and TFAM variants on breast cancer pathomorphological characteristics and patient outcomes

Ieva Golubickaite et al.

Summary: This study investigated the association between single nucleotide variants in POLG and TFAM genes and tumour phenotype and disease outcome in breast cancer patients. Specific genotypes of POLG rs2307441 and rs2072267, as well as TFAM rs3900887, were found to be significantly associated with different tumour characteristics.
