MXE: A package for simulating long-term diffusive mass transport phenomena in nanoscale systems

Juan Pedro Mendez et al.

Summary: The package allows simulation of long-term diffusive mass transport with atomic scale resolution, based on a non-equilibrium statistical thermo-chemomechanical formulation. The implementation is an add-on to LAMMPS code, compatible with other functionalities, and shows good parallel scalability and efficiency. The framework is able to simulate complex diffusive behavior in materials for exceedingly large time scales, providing a tool for understanding diffusive behavior in materials where experimental characterization is difficult.
