Antimicrobial resistance phenotypes and genotypes ofStreptococcus suisisolated from clinically healthy pigs from 2017 to 2019 in Jiangxi Province, China

M. -F. Tan et al.

Summary: This study investigated the antimicrobial resistance profiles and genotypes of Streptococcus suis in Jiangxi Province, China. The findings revealed the widespread emergence of multidrug-resistant strains, with prevalent resistance genes and genotypes similar to other regions or countries. The presence of integrative and conjugative elements (ICEs) is increasing the risk of horizontal transfer of antimicrobial resistance genes.
