Telehealth in type 1 diabetes

Tejaswi Kompala et al.

Summary: Telehealth has played an expanding role in the care of people with type 1 diabetes during the pandemic, showing equivalence to in-person care in terms of glycemic control and increasing convenience and satisfaction. Recent evidence suggests that telehealth can promote increased engagement of adolescents with type 1 diabetes and support the management of microvascular complications and mental health related to diabetes. As telehealth capabilities continue to improve, it has the potential to increase access to high-quality diabetes care for many individuals with type 1 diabetes.
