Manufacturing Fe-TiC Composite Powder via Inert Gas Atomization by Forming Reinforcement Phase In Situ

Anton Perminov et al.

Summary: Fe-TiC metal matrix composite powder is manufactured using vacuum inert gas atomization technique. The study investigates the influence of alloying strategy, homogenization time, and spraying temperature on the properties of the obtained spherical powders. SEM analysis and EDX mapping reveal well-dispersed submicron TiC precipitates in the powder.
