Nickel Influences Urease Activity and Calcium Distribution in Tomato Fruits

Fernando Giovannetti Macedo et al.

Summary: The interaction between nickel and calcium has been found to positively affect the growth and quality of tomato fruits, increasing yields and urease activity while inhibiting the incidence of blossom end rot. However, a deficiency in calcium may lead to the development of BER symptoms in tomato fruits.
