Application of Karhunen-Loeve decomposition and piecewise linearization to a physics-based battery model

Ramin Masoudi et al.

Summary: This paper studies order reduction of an electrochemistry-based Lithium-ion battery model using the Proper Orthogonal Decomposition and Trajectory PieceWise Linearization. These reduction techniques can reduce the computational complexity of the battery model, making it suitable for control-oriented problems and real-time applications.

Recursive Linearization of Higher-Order for Power System Models

M. A. Hernandez-Ortega et al.

Summary: A novel general-purpose recursive linearization methodology combining chain rule-based techniques with perturbation theory is proposed for small-signal stability analysis. This method provides a straightforward and fast alternative to linearizing complex systems, reducing computational effort and extending the applicability of perturbed Koopman mode analysis and the method of normal forms. The concept of recursive linearization is introduced to compute higher-order approximations and relationships for computing higher-order terms of power series expansions of nonlinear models are developed.
