Measuring Walkability with GIS-Methods Overview and New Approach Proposal

Agnieszka Telega et al.

Summary: Cities only cover about 3% of the Earth's surface area, but half of the global population lives in them, necessitating special actions for sustainable development due to high population density. Adequately organized urban spaces are essential for creating attractive, safe, and pedestrian-friendly environments. GIS tools can help analyze these spaces effectively, with walkability being a key indicator for urban planning and development.
