Programming trajectories analytics in block-based programming language learning

Bo Jiang et al.

Summary: Block-based programming languages provide effective support for K-12 students to learn computational thinking, but current assessment methods lack insights into students' learning process and mistakes. This study proposes a data-driven method to understand students' problem-solving process in game-based block-based programming practice. By analyzing a large-scale programming dataset, the study identifies common mistakes and correction trajectories. A novel representation method and clustering algorithm are applied to discover hidden patterns and distinguish different clusters of students. The results reveal significant differences in overall performance among the clusters, providing insights into students' programming trajectories and performance.

University students' interaction, Internet self-efficacy, self-regulation and satisfaction with online education during pandemic crises of COVID-19 (SARS-CoV-2)

Khaldoun Mohammad Hamdan et al.

Summary: This study aimed to investigate Jordanian university students' interaction, Internet self-efficacy, self-regulation and satisfaction regarding online education during the COVID-19 pandemic. The findings revealed that Jordanian university students had low satisfaction with online education, with learner-instructor interaction scoring the highest, followed by learner-learner interaction and learner-content interaction scoring the lowest. Significant differences in students' satisfaction were identified based on education level, university type, and marital status.
