Methods matter: Your measures of explicit and implicit processes in visuomotor adaptation affect your results

Jana Maresch et al.

Summary: The study compared verbal reporting and exclusion in two different conditions and found that the measurement results varied between the two conditions. In the intermittent reporting group, verbal reporting showed more explicit re-aiming while exclusion showed less implicit adaptation. However, after the end of learning, the differences between the two methods were no longer apparent.
