Impact of long-duration CSO events under different tidal change conditions on distribution of microbial indicators and PPCPs in Sumida river estuary of Tokyo Bay, Japan

Summary: This study monitored surface water quality using various sewage markers to evaluate fecal contamination in the Sumida river estuary. The findings showed that overflow chambers play a significant role in controlling CSO pollution, and CSO pollutants accumulate in river mouth areas during high tide.
