Enhancement of 3D-Printable Materials by Dual-Curing Procedures

Xavier Fernandez-Francos et al.

Summary: Dual-curing thermosetting systems have been developed as an alternative to conventional curing systems, offering processing flexibility and the ability to enhance properties of cured parts. These systems, particularly in 3D printing technologies, aim to improve quality and properties of printed parts, with the added benefit of controlling the curing sequence for tailored structure and properties. This opens up opportunities for novel applications based on the controlled reactivity and functionality of the intermediate material and final consolidation of 3D-printed parts.

Recyclable thermosetting polymers for digital light processing 3D printing

Zhiqiang Chen et al.

Summary: The 3D printing of various polymers has developed rapidly in recent years, with digital light processing (DLP) emerging as a popular technique due to its high resolution and speed. However, the lack of printable high-performance materials limits its applications. A two-stage curing approach involving dynamic reactions was proposed for recyclable DLP 3D printing of high-performance thermosetting polymers, showing potential for green manufacturing technologies.

Influence of Vanillin Acrylate-Based Resin Composition on Resin Photocuring Kinetics and Antimicrobial Properties of the Resulting Polymers

Aukse Navaruckiene et al.

Summary: This study investigated the influence of vanillin acrylate-based resin composition on photocuring kinetics and antimicrobial properties of resulting polymers. The research found that polymers based on vanillin acrylates showed significant antibacterial activity and vanillin diacrylate-based polymer films also demonstrated antifungal activity. Vanillin diacrylate-based dual curing systems were selected as the most promising for optical 3D printing of bio-based polymers with antibacterial and antifungal activity.
