Bibliometric analysis of the literature relating to scleral contact lenses

Summary: This study aimed to identify the most impactful contact lens-related papers published this century, as well as the top countries, authors, institutions, and journals by assembling publication metrics. Contact lens materials and lens-associated keratitis were found to be topics of high interest in the contemporary literature, with emerging interest in orthokeratology for myopia control and glucose monitoring.<Contact lens data were analyzed for the most influential authors, institutions, countries, and journals in this field. Optometry was shown to be the leading profession in terms of impactful contact lens-related publications.
