Global and regional levels and trends of child and adolescent morbidity from 2000 to 2016: an analysis of years lost due to disability (YLDs)

Regina Guthold et al.

Summary: The analysis of non-fatal health loss among children and adolescents from 2000 to 2016 showed limited progress in reducing the global burden, with important variations between sexes and regions. Iron-deficiency anaemia and skin diseases were identified as important causes of YLDs globally, while specific causes differed between age groups and regions, highlighting the need for context-specific interventions tailored for each demographic group.
