Higher diversity of vegetable consumption is associated with less airway inflammation and prevalence of asthma in school-aged children

Francisca de Castro Mendes et al.

Summary: A study found that consuming a greater variety of vegetables was negatively associated with self-reported asthma, and having a vegetable diversity consumption over 3 items was negatively associated with airway inflammation and breathing difficulties. This suggests that eating a wider variety of vegetables may help reduce the prevalence of asthma in school-aged children.
