David J. A. Jenkins et al.

Summary: In this study involving 137,851 participants from five continents aged between 35 and 70 years, it was found that a diet with a high glycemic index was associated with an increased risk of cardiovascular disease and death. Consuming a diet with a high glycemic index was linked to higher risk of major cardiovascular events and death, even among participants without preexisting cardiovascular disease.
