Flexible pressure sensors with high pressure sensitivity and low detection limit using a unique honeycomb-designed polyimide/reduced graphene oxide composite aerogel

Qiang Xu et al.

Summary: The study presents superelastic and highly pressure-sensitive polyimide/reduced graphene oxide aerogel sensors with a unique honeycomb structure, which were designed and fabricated using a bidirectional freezing technique. These sensors exhibit high pressure sensitivity, ultralow detection limit, broad detection range, fast response time, and excellent stability during cycling, showing promising potential applications in harsh environments. The aerogel sensors have been successfully used to detect a full range of human motion, making them attractive for high-performance flexible pressure sensors and wearable electronic devices.

3D Lamellar-Structured Graphene Aerogels for Thermal Interface Composites with High Through-Plane Thermal Conductivity and Fracture Toughness

Pengfei Liu et al.

Summary: Lamellar-structured polyamic acid salt/graphene oxide hybrid aerogels were constructed through bidirectional freezing and lyophilization, resulting in high-quality vertically aligned graphene lamellae for superior through-plane thermal conduction capacity. The epoxy composite impregnated with 2.30 vol% of graphene exhibited an outstanding through-plane thermal conductivity of 20.0 W m(-1) K-1, with a record-high specific thermal conductivity enhancement of 4310%, and also showed a high fracture toughness similar to 1.71 times that of epoxy.
