Challenge of adopting relatively low strength and self-cured geopolymer for road construction application: a review and primary laboratory study

Peerapong Jitsangiam et al.

Summary: In the road construction industry, the use of more sustainable construction materials is necessary. This study explored the possibility of using geopolymers in road construction as an alternative to cement, aiming to reduce CO2 emissions. Through a literature review and laboratory study, a concept of self-cured geopolymers with relatively low strength was developed, showing potential for practical application as a road stabilising agent.
