Amorphous exchange-spring magnets with crossed perpendicular and in-plane anisotropies

K. A. Thorarinsdottir et al.

Summary: The study focused on the magnetic coupling in a thin film bilayer exchange-spring magnet consisting of amorphous Tb10Co90 and amorphous Co-85(Al70Zr30)(15) layers, with CoAlZr being directly exchange coupled to TbCo. It was found that the CoAlZr magnetization is perpendicular to the plane in the interface region and can be tuned by varying its thickness.
