The synthesis of diversely functionalized symmetrical benzidines through electrochemical dehydrogenative cross-coupling reaction of two N,N-disubstituted anilines is demonstrated in this study. The reactions are conducted under mild conditions without the need for oxidizing reagents and transition metal catalysts.
