Clarifying the in-situ cytotoxic potential of electronic waste plastics

Summary: The study found that although there are numerous hazardous elements in E-plastics, the acute and sub-chronic toxic effects on human cells from direct contact can be neglected, as the leaching of additives into the biological medium is not sufficient to trigger a cytotoxic response. These results provide novel insights into the safety and circular economy implementation of E-plastics.
