Construction of natural polymeric imprinted materials and their applications in water treatment: A review

Na Li et al.

Summary: Molecularly imprinted materials (MIMs) are widely used in various fields due to their specific recognition and high selectivity. Natural polymeric materials, such as chitosan, cyclodextrin, and cellulose, are promising candidates for MIMs due to their environmentally friendly properties and abundant active functional groups. Prospects for the development of novel and high-performance natural polymeric MIMs were discussed to overcome the challenges in their preparation and applications.

Removal of fluoroquinolone antibiotics using actinia-shaped lignin-based adsorbents: Role of the length and distribution of branched-chains

Boqiang Gao et al.

Summary: A series of actinia-shaped lignin-based adsorbents were designed and fabricated for the removal of ofloxacin and ciprofloxacin from water. Experimental and calculation results indicated that hydrogen bonding contributes more than electrostatic attraction to adsorption. The distribution density of the branched chains was more efficient in promoting adsorption than the chain length.
