Transition metal-containing nitrogen-doped nanocarbon catalysts derived from 5-methylresorcinol for anion exchange membrane fuel cell application

Summary: Highly active bimetallic catalysts for the electrochemical oxygen reduction reaction were successfully prepared by high-temperature pyrolysis, showing excellent performance comparable to commercial Pt/C. The catalysts' superior activity was attributed to high surface metal and nitrogen contents. In an anion exchange membrane fuel cell, the catalyst demonstrated a high peak power density.
