Cannabidiol induces antidepressant and anxiolytic-like effects in experimental type-1 diabetic animals by multiple sites of action

Yane Costa Chaves et al.

Summary: The study demonstrates that CBD has antidepressant and anxiolytic effects on type-1 diabetes animals, with involvement of 5-HT1A, CB1, and CB2 receptors in mediating these effects. Furthermore, CB2 receptor plays a role in the glycemic control effect of CBD in diabetic animals.

Summary: Chronic unpredictable mild stress can induce depressive-like traits in mice, and activation of the posterior basal lateral amygdala to ventral CA1 innervation can reverse some neural changes and alleviate depressive behaviors.

Cannabidiol treatment in an adolescent with multiple substance abuse, social anxiety and depression

Clarissa Laczkovics et al.

Summary: This report presents a case of a 16.9-year-old patient with multiple substance use disorder, severe depression, social phobia, and narcissistic personality disorder. Treatment with CBD capsules in varying dosages resulted in significant improvements in depressive and anxiety symptoms, as well as successful cessation of illegal drug abuse. This case suggests potential for CBD as a therapeutic option in substance use disorder, although further research is needed.
