Equilibrium and kinetic study of simultaneous removal of Cd (II) and Ni (II) by acrylamide-based polymer as effective adsorbent: optimisation by response surface methodology (RSM)

Marzieh Abedpour et al.

Summary: This study investigated the equilibrium and kinetic isotherms of simultaneous removal of Ni (II) and Cd (II) using acrylamide-based polymer adsorbent. The optimal conditions were determined using central composite design method. The results showed that the polymer adsorbent achieved high removal efficiency under the optimal conditions. Langmuir isotherm model provided the best fit for the equilibrium data, while the pseudo-second-order kinetic equation showed good agreement with the experimental data.

A comprehensive study on modified-pillared clays as an adsorbent in wastewater treatment processes

Hanieh Najafi et al.

Summary: Pillared clays are special modified clays with significant and permanent porosity, known for their catalytic properties and adsorptive characteristics towards different contaminants. Various methods for pillaring clays, comparison of pillaring agents, and modification techniques to enhance selective adsorption towards specific pollutants have been studied. These materials show potential for adsorptive applications towards organic, pharmaceutical, and metal ions pollutants.
