Mean-field dynamics of infinite-dimensional particle systems: global shear versus random local forcing

Elisabeth Agoritsas

Summary: The article discusses a method for studying amorphous materials using different driving protocols in infinite dimensions. It is found that in the infinite-dimensional limit, the mean-field dynamics of local driving is equivalent to global shear, with simple rescaling. By adjusting spatial correlations, a broader family of local driving can be explored.
