Assessing temporal responsiveness of primary stimulated neurons in auditory brainstem and cochlear implant users

Mahan Azadpour et al.

Summary: This study explores a potential reason for poor speech perception in ABI users, which is the relative lack of temporal responsiveness of primary neurons stimulated by ABI. The slower ECAP recovery was associated with poorer hearing outcomes in both ABI and CI users. These findings may provide insights for improving auditory implant devices and guiding stimulation strategies in the cochlear nucleus.
