Graphdiyne as a saturable absorber for 2-μm all-solid-state Q-switched laser

Yuqian Zu et al.

Summary: Graphdiyne (GDY) as a novel one-atom-thick carbon allotrope has unique planar structure and direct natural bandgap, attracting wide interest in two-dimensional materials. A high-quality saturable absorber based on GDY was successfully applied in a compact diode-pumped solid-state passively Q-switched laser, achieving high output power and efficiency.

Modification of spectrum and laser performance on a Tm3+ doped YAlO3 crystal by a specific electron beam radiation

Xiaotao Yang et al.

Summary: The spectrum and laser performance of a Tm:YAP laser crystal were studied under 1 MeV electron irradiation. The results showed enhancements in absorption spectrum, changes in laser threshold, output power, and efficiency, as well as drift in center wavelength and increase in wavelength FWHM.
