The article presents the design and detailed analysis of a DNA-shaped antenna for terahertz and sub-terahertz applications, which achieves dual-band characteristics with enhanced bandwidth by changing the ground from full to partial.
The article presents design and detailed analysis of DNA (Deoxyribonucleic Acid) shaped antenna for terahertz and sub-terahertz applications. The final antenna is designed in four steps starting with a single coil as a patch and by adding four fractal coils in DNA shape. The bandwidth of novel DNA shaped antenna is enhanced by altering full ground to partial ground. The antenna has dual-band characteristics with an impedance bandwidth in the sub-terahertz band (0.22-0.32 THz) and terahertz (1.38-2.89 THz) band and maximum gain of 9.03dBi at 2.71 THz.
