Optical parametric amplification of spectrally incoherent pulses

Summary: The optical parametric amplification of spectrally incoherent signals was analyzed and simulated using normalized equations describing three-wave nonlinear mixing. Different amplification regimes were revealed by varying the amplifier's properties and seeding conditions. Additionally, the relative temporal walk-off of the signal, idler, and pump was found to have a strong impact on the temporal and spectral properties of the amplified signal.
