Strain Engineering of Metal Halide Perovskites on Coupling Anisotropic Behaviors

Yinan Jiao et al.

Summary: This report summarizes the rapid increase in power conversion efficiencies of solar cells containing metal halide perovskites (MHPs) over the past decade, exceeding 25%. The photovoltaic properties, microstructures, and high-pressure structural evolution of MHPs with anisotropic crystal structures are extensively investigated. The optical/electronic properties of MHPs under thermal, mechanically imposed, and in-service strains/stresses are highlighted, areas that have been previously neglected by researchers.

Engineering fluorinated-cation containing inverted perovskite solar cells with an efficiency of >21% and improved stability towards humidity

Xiao Wang et al.

Summary: Efficient and stable perovskite solar cells with simple active layers are desirable for manufacturing, but the formation of a two-dimensional component in the perovskite film compromises the performance. In this study, low temperature fabrication of highly efficient and stable inverted solar cells was achieved by adding a fluorinated lead salt, resulting in increased crystal size and orientation, as well as enhanced stability under high humidity conditions.
