Nano friction and adhesion properties on Ti3C2 and Nb2C MXene studied by AFM

Xuanli Zhou et al.

Summary: This study compared the nano friction and adhesion of Ti3C2 and Nb2C MXene for the first time using AFM Nanoman technology, and found that Nb2C exhibited lower friction and adhesion properties than Ti3C2 under the same conditions, which is related to the difference in surface dipole moment density. Additionally, the adhesion and friction of both MXenes decreased with increasing temperature, providing broader application prospects for these new materials.
