High power and stable P-doped yolk-shell structured Si@C anode simultaneously enhancing conductivity and Li+ diffusion kinetics

Ming Chen et al.

Summary: Phosphorus-doped yolk-shell Si@C materials were prepared to improve the stability and power of silicon anodes, resulting in increased Coulombic efficiency, high capacity retention, and great rate capability. Pairing these anodes with commercial activated carbon and LiFePO4 cathode led to the assembly of high power density lithium-ion capacitor and lithium-ion full cell, showing good rate performance. This work provides an effective way to further enhance power density and stability in energy storage devices.

Advanced Anode Materials of Potassium Ion Batteries: from Zero Dimension to Three Dimensions

Jiefeng Zheng et al.

Summary: Potassium ion batteries (PIBs) are promising candidates for large-grid electrochemical energy storage systems due to their sufficient reserves and economical cost. Rational structural design based on appropriate materials, particularly nanostructural design, is essential for practical PIBs with fast ion diffusion. Different dimensional structures of anode materials, including carbon materials, metal-based chalcogenides (MCs), metal-based oxides (MOs), and alloying materials, play crucial roles in reducing resistance and alleviating stress changes in PIBs. Hopeful strategies are proposed to address current disadvantages and further experiments are encouraged to enhance electrochemical performances.
