Identification of Protein Changes in the Urine of Hypothyroid Patients Treated with Thyroxine Using Proteomics Approach

Afshan Masood et al.

Summary: This study aimed to identify and characterize the urinary proteome changes in patients with hypothyroidism. The results revealed significant alterations in urinary protein abundance related to processes such as transport, acute phase response, and oxidative stress. Bioinformatic analysis identified dysregulation of pathways related to amino acid metabolism, molecular transport, and small-molecule biochemistry, suggesting involvement of various signaling pathways in response to hypothyroidism.
