Strontium tungstate-modified disposable strip for electrochemical detection of sulfadiazine in environmental samples

Thangavelu Kokulnathan et al.

Summary: In this study, SrWO4 nanoflakes were successfully prepared and used to modify an electrochemical electrode for the efficient determination of SDZ. The SrWO4 modified electrode exhibited excellent electrocatalytic activity and high recognition capability for SDZ, achieving a low oxidation peak and a wide linear detection range. The performance of the SrWO4-based sensor was enhanced due to its catalytic effect, large surface area, good electrical conductivity, and physicochemical nature, showing its significance in drug detection.

Solubility of sulfadiazine in (ethylene glycol plus water) mixtures: Measurement, correlation, thermodynamics and preferential solvation

Ana Maria Cruz-Gonzalez et al.

Summary: This study reports the equilibrium solubility of sulfadiazine (SD) in (ethylene glycol (EG) + water) mixtures at different temperatures. The solubility of SD was found to increase with temperature and with higher proportions of EG. Various models were used to correlate the solubility behavior, and thermodynamic analysis was performed to study the solvation of SD in different mixtures. It was observed that the solvation preference of SD changes between being solvated by water and EG in different mixture compositions.
