Band-edge-enhanced tunable random laser using a polymer-stabilised cholesteric liquid crystal

Hongbo Lu et al.

Summary: Electrically tunable random laser action is achieved in a cavity-free structure, where the polymer network deformation under an electric field results in a gradient distribution of the cholesteric liquid crystal pitch, widening the bandgap and changing the random laser wavelength accordingly, offering new possibilities for highly efficient incoherent light sources.
