On the exact null-distribution of a test for homogeneity of the risk ratio in meta-analysis of studies with rare events

Summary: This paper focuses on testing homogeneity of relative risk in meta-analysis of count outcomes for studies with rare events. A new chi-square test is proposed and its performance is investigated using simulations. Results show that the proposed method performs well in rare events situations.
