Microbial potentiometric sensor array measurements in unsaturated soils

Summary: This study demonstrates a novel technology for monitoring changes in electrical potential of unsaturated soils using biofilm-populated electrodes. Using biofilm-populated electrodes as references in stable environments can successfully assess and monitor the electrochemical potential generated by plants and microorganisms. The findings suggest that long-term and real-time measurements of open-circuit potential in unsaturated soils are possible.

Electrochemical paper-based analytical device for multiplexed, point-of-care detection of cardiovascular disease biomarkers

Summary: The study demonstrated an electrochemical paper-based analytical device (ePAD) combined with a label-free immunoassay for the simultaneous determination of three important cardiovascular disease biomarkers. The ePAD showed good linearity, low detection limits, and good reproducibility, enabling the simultaneous detection of the three biomarkers in serum samples. The proposed immunosensor can be a great alternative for the early detection of cardiovascular diseases at the point-of-care.

Chemometrics-assisted simultaneous voltammetric determination of multiple neurotransmitters in human serum

Summary: In this study, an electrochemical method combining chemometrics was developed for simultaneous quantification of multiple neurotransmitters in human blood serum. A reduced graphene oxide modified glassy carbon electrode was used and a Tchebichef curve moment method was proposed for the simultaneous determination of neurotransmitters. The results showed that the method is simple and reliable for the simultaneous determination of multiple neurotransmitters in human serum.

By incorporating two pretreatment zones, masking agents were able to remove interfering ions effectively, resulting in low detectable concentrations and linear ranges for the heavy metal ions.
