Applications of porous frameworks in solid-phase microextraction

Mohammad Mahdi Khataei et al.

Summary: Porous frameworks, attractive solid materials assembled by interconnection of molecules and ions, are gaining attention due to their high stability, well-defined pore size, and large surface area, making them suitable for use as extraction phases in sample pretreatment. Solid-phase microextraction, a subclass of sample preparation techniques, has different configurations introduced to adapt to various environments and analytical instruments. This review investigates the theoretical aspects and different modes of solid-phase microextraction methods.

Solid-phase microextraction of methadone by using a chitosan nanocomposite incorporated with Polyoxomolibdate nanocluster/Graphene oxide

Hamid Abedi

Summary: The prepared nanocomposite coating showed good mechanical and thermal stability, as well as high extraction efficiency; the extraction conditions were optimized using central composite statistical design and response surface methodology; the detection limit was 0.12 ng/mL with a linear range of 0.30-200 ng/mL, indicating potential for methadone extraction and determination in biological samples.

Boron nitride modified reduced graphene oxide as solid-phase microextraction coating material for the extraction of seven polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons from water and soil samples

Hongda Li et al.

Summary: A novel hexagonal boron nitride modified reduced graphene oxide material was synthesized for the solid-phase microextraction of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons from water and soil samples. The method showed good adsorption performance, linear response range, and relative recoveries for the analytes in both types of samples under optimal conditions.

Novel materials as capillary coatings for in-tube solid-phase microextraction for bioanalysis

Caroline Fernandes Grecco et al.

Summary: In-tube solid-phase microextraction with a capillary column as extraction device can be directly coupled with high-performance liquid chromatography systems. This technique has been continuously developed since 1997 and has been applied to analyze a variety of biological samples for therapeutic drug monitoring, biomarker studies, illicit drug detection, metabolomics studies, and drug exposure assessment. New couplings and advanced stationary phases have been developed to enhance the performance of in-tube solid-phase microextraction.
